A tropical paradise seethes with hidden evil in Far Cry, a detailed action shooter game. Freelance mariner Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago, a brash reporter named Valerie had offered him an incredible sum of cash to take her to this unspoiled paradise. Shortly after docking, however, Jack's boat was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming about the island. With his boat destroyed, his money gone and the gorgeous Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amid the wilds of the island, with nothing but a gun and his wits to survive by.
The game is controlled with the keyboard and pointer. The mouse/pointer is moved to look around the 3D environment and the keyboard and mouse/pointer buttons perform various actions. Many of the controls are fully customisable to your choice of keys/pointer buttons. You do need to hold down and press buttons/keys repeatedly, often in this game and to be able to do this quickly. The same applies to moving the mouse. There are five difficulty levels from 'Easy' to 'Realistic'. You can adjust the mouse sensitivity and accelaration in the game to your preference.
